John Oliver and Dwayne Johnson helped with the debut on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."
When Evans' name was called, Oliver became irate, caused the crowd to boo, and walked out of the room while yelling for a "recount."
Instead of congratulating the former "Captain America" star on the show, Johnson did so on the set of their film, "Red One."
Evans tells Johnson in the video, "Coming from a previous Sexiest Man Alive means a lot.
But Johnson, a 2016 Sexiest Man cover model, corrects him, saying, "I never give the title up. I have the title of Sexiest Man Alive in perpetuity, or for all time.
Evans succeeds Paul Rudd, a fellow Marvel alum, as the Sexiest Man Alive.
Actor Chris Evans has been named this year's Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine.
